Pachyderm is a journal of opinion founded by a group of young intellectuals seeking to open a space for discussion in the Costa Rican national. Its main purpose is to shake the conservative bigotry and joy permeating public opinion in the media. Thus, claims saves Pachyderm become a reference place where criticism is not censorship or moralism, but analysis, reflection and proposals.
As is known, pachydermata are an unusual and obsolete order of placental mammals now grouped in other orders (Proboscidea, Perissodactyla and Artiodactyla). In the context of this public project, the explicit reference to the elephant wants to evoke the image of "pink elephant in the room." The presence of such animal, is self-evident and yet, despite the patency of its huge dimensions, it is simply ignored.
The public opinion is so eloquent that is silent as to what is said, that which shows what it wants to be concealed. This applies to certain topics not covered or intentionally taken by intractable User Input media. In Pachyderm want precisely not ignore the elephant and attacking their presence openly.
